The best UFO sightings for the first week of August, 2012, and reported to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), have been rounded up by the paranormal research YouTube channel fdex, and this time they're delivered with a twist. For the first time the channel editorializes, spinning out alternate theories for the more than a dozen unidentified flying object photos (and a few short videos) collected. Another nice touch is enhancing the more mysterious sightings with closeups and stop motion analysis. It kind of kills the fun, but there are a few cases left over which cannot be so easily explained by lens flare, water droplets or outright trickery. Like the one enlarged in the photo above, taken accidentally by a Texan awed by a passing thunderstorm. It wasn't until he reviewed the photos later that he realized he'd taken a UFO photo. Like all the rest in this UFO video, the incident was reported to MUFON, who have researchers in every state looking into the most promising incidents. This one qualifies. The audio soundtrack is a bit mystifying, but it comes down to artistic license. That's what the mute button is for. Otherwise, it's a very interesting roundup and worth the eight minutes spent. This is one weekly ritual worth looking forward to.
